Every SOKO sconce is wrapped in real wood veneer, and the species you choose sets the whole mood of the light. Here is a quick tour of our eight woods, from the palest to the darkest.
Pale and light
Birch is the lightest and brightest in our range — a clean, almost white tone that suits nurseries and airy modern rooms. Ash is a touch warmer with a clear, straight grain, the natural choice for Scandinavian and minimalist interiors. Japanese ash carries a warmer, more characterful tone than standard ash and sits beautifully in Japandi and wabi-sabi spaces.
Warm mid-tones
Cherry brings a soft reddish warmth that deepens gracefully with age. Rosewood is richer and more reddish-brown, with characterful grain that pairs with both classic and contemporary rooms. Etimoe is the quiet exotic of the group — a finely figured grain that reads as a subtle statement piece.
Bold and dark
Walnut is our deep, luxurious brown — a mid-century classic that contrasts strikingly against light walls. Zebrano is the showpiece, with bold zebra-like stripes that turn a wall lamp into a focal point.
How to choose
For a calm, barely-there light, go pale (birch, ash). For warmth and character, go mid-tone (cherry, rosewood, etimoe). For drama and contrast, go dark or figured (walnut, zebrano). If you are torn, our wood finish samples let you see and feel the veneers in person before deciding.
